Mr Price National Distribution Centre

Swanlite was proudly awarded the LED lighting contract for Mr. Price’s New National Distribution Centre - Hammersdale, KZN, South Africa through its initial Request For Proposal (RFP) submission. The ergonomic illumination of the Warehouse component (totaling of 70 0000m2) was achieved by Swanlite’s LOVElight Design Team, using a combination of Dali Dimmable luminaires, namely the Zumtobel LED CRAFT - various optics and lumen packages (mounted at 13m, 7m & 5.5m respectively) and the Vossloh Schwabe LEDline AluFix Luga (mounted at 3.5m ). Every installed Dali luminaire is individually addressed and operated via Swanlite’s custom designed Building Management System (BMS) and Tridonic occupancy/lux Sensor. Swanlite’s design with superior efficacy, future proofed luminaires was the key fundamental in the award decision which was based on an extremely favorable Return on Investment (ROI).

In addition to the Warehousing component, Swanlite also designed and supplied the LED lighting solution for 4 stories (44 000m2) Pick Module System, using the combination of THORN Pop Pack LED luminaires, which are controlled by occupancy sensors. As with the Warehouse, the use of high-efficiency luminaires coupled with lighting control met the stringent design and operational requirements specified by the engineer, leading to the additional award of this portion of the project.
